WIAW Party!

It’s time to PARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTAAAAAY! Time to join in the best party on a Wednesday…the WIAW party of course! Hosted by the very lovely Jenn!

What I Wore Wednesday…

I kept this OOTD fairly simple: white vest top, H&M, blue vest top with white trim, Miss Selfridges, skinny jeans, Tommy Hilfiger, sandals, Office, swallow earrings, Topshop. 🙂

I’m so glad that I stuck with jeans as a few hours later the dark grey clouds started to set in. It’s so hard dressing for this weather, you literally don’t know how it is going to progress throughout the day. Hence, I always carry my umbrella in my bag come rain or shine. I know I can always rely on my trusty umbrella, when it hasn’t turned inside out in the wind of course! 😛

What I Worked Wednesday…

It was the perfect running weather this morning, sunny but with a slight breeze. I took my more hillier route and ran 6.67 miles in 1 hour 8 minutes. I thought my legs would be tired after the 10 miler at the weekend, but they coped reasonably well. I’m quite happy with my bodies progress in relation to how it recovers after a long run. It seems to be recovering a lot quicker than it used to. My legs didn’t feel heavy or tight at all- it must be all that yoga! It works wonders I tell-yah, absolute wonders!

I decided against going to my Wednesday night spin core class. I usually do both when I run shorter distances, but over 10K and spinning sounded like a bit too much. I do love that class, so I’m going to re-jig my workout plan for next week so I can fit in both. Although I did do the ab exercises form the class as they are amazing and really get your core working.

What I did Wednesday…

This Wednesday wasn’t as exciting as last weeks Oxford trip. I spent all day in the lab running experiments and taking sneaky peeks of the tennis matches at Wimbledon. Well I say sneaky, my supervisor really doesn’t mind- I think I have the best boss ever! I also fitted in some blog stalking too. Since I didn’t go to my spinning class it meant that I had time to go and pick up some groceries. I headed over to Sainsbury’s this time (I’m not bored of it yet!) for some mid week supplies…

Mixed salad leaves, cherries, butternut squash, broccoli, chestnut mushrooms, spinach, red and orange peppers, bananas, a red onion, an aubergine, a cucumber, an avocado, courgettes, live lettuce, celery, coconut milk, thai green curry paste, chick peas, butter beans, black beans, black olives, jalopeno stuffed green olives, sun blushed tomatoes, vanilla soya yoghurt, chopped tomatoes, custard creams, smooth peanut butter, white bread rolls, a pizza, lemon sponge cake, basmati rice, Venetian orange extract, cauldron vegetarian Cumberland sausages, rice milk, vanilla rice milk and chocolate soya milk.

What I ATE Wednesday…

Breakfast this morning was a post-run smoothie in a bowl.

I loved how bright and green the smoothie smoothie turned out. It included spring greens, a nectarine, a banana, coconut water, soya milk, maple syrup, mesquite, hemp protein powder, ground flax and xanthan gum. All topped off with crumbled coconut butter, carob coated raisins (totally addictive!) and half of a crumbled raw breakfast biscuit. As like all green smoothies this tasted amazing and the breakfast cookie and carob coated raisins- my new snack obsession!

Since I had some basil tofu in my fridge I thought it was about time that I used it. I made a huge salad made with a mix of leaves, carrots, peppers, bulgar wheat, raddish, tomatoes and basil tofu with a super sweet Pink Lady apple and a scrum-didli-umptious persimmon afterwards.

Afternoon snackage was a huge pile of Laura’s high protein hummus that I blended with some sun blushed tomatoes and raw carrots. I’ve got quite an addiction for raw carrots at the moment. I fear I’m going to wake up one day and find that I’ve turned into a rabbit!

…if humans can fly to the moon, you never know it could actually happen. 😀

After unpacking the shopping all I wanted to eat was a socca pizza.  I topped it with a tomato sauce and stir fried veggies that included aubergine, mushrooms, a red pepper, courgettes, red onion slices.  I also added two sliced Cauldron vegetarian sausages, vegetarian mozzarella, olives and sun blushed tomatoes, delicious!

What was the best thing that you’ve eaten on this fine WIAW?

I hope you are all having a great week so far! 🙂

I’ve been noticing the same thing with running, I seem to recover so much better this year than last, and I agree that yoga seems to make a huge difference! Best thing I ate today I think has to be my Sweet Potato Falafel burger, the sweet chilli hummus just made it! Hope you liked the high protein hummus too 🙂

It’s never been something that I’ve done but maybe it’s the warmer weather or something?! I’m addicted lol!
You got quite a haul from Sainsburys, and lots of yummy things too! No wonder you like shopping there so much 🙂
