I *HEART* January!

Happy Tuesday! I’m loving today since it’s the last day in January and Spring is just around the corner.

Considering that it has been January and it just never seems to end, this month for me has been pretty amazing!  Totally high on life right now and loving every minute of it! 😀

This month I went and got myself a new job and had an interview for a research position at Oxford University (decision still pending!)…

I pursued eating a “cleaner” and lighter diet full of nutritious packed food after the richer but delicious indulgences of Christmas…

I also went to watch one amazing film that was War Horse…

warhorseIt was very emotional and beautifully shot…such an awesome film!

Operation Wedding went into full swing with venue ideas and a wedding fayre to get some inspirations for the big day.

I think we finally know what kind of look and feel we want for a wedding, now it’s just down to getting things booked and organised. 😀

Goals for February…

  • Settle into my new job and routine

  • Not worry about doing as much cardio as I’m used to and just enjoy my workouts for what they are

  • Finally set a wedding date and formulate a guest list

  • Continue to eat nourishing and healthy food and being kind to by body

For February I am super excited to announce that Pukka Herbs are sponsoring my blog as I’m a huge fan of their products.  Also Fruit Drop a company that specialises in delivering boxes of fruit to your wok place are also sponsoring the blog.  I love the concept of Fruit Drop as they are helping people eat healthy and nutritious food where ever they may be.

Also please check out my girl Janine’s new blog, Girl with the Red Hair on her quest to be happy and healthy.  So far she has lost 6 lbs…go her!  Also, Gina at The Seventh Letter is always fun for some fashion and style inspiration so go have a look see.

If you are interested in promoting your blog or business on Celery and Cupcakes then you can read more on my sponsorship page and contact me at celeryandcupcakes@gmail.com.

  1. what a great january you have had!!! I am going away to bath for valentines day with my boyfriend, can’t wait!!

  2. All of your wedding planning sounds so exciting! Sounds like you’ve had a great month 🙂 February for me is going to be all about whittling down uni deadlines and half-marathon training – eek!

  3. I love the idea of Fruit Drop – now all i need is an office to work in 🙂 would you chose Essential or Seasonal? Seasonal for me – i love a wide range of fruit.

January for me was a wash out sadly, the Flu i had before christmas meant that until now i’ve had very little energy, so i am certainly pleased to see February because it means i can get into my Marathon training properly (2 months late), start building awareness, publicity & awareness. I am doing a farmers market with my craft stuff for extra funds & awareness. I’m hoping today to discuss a donation with the manager of a local shop….. actually i am excited for once! Just need to make sure i don’t let my excitement turn into stress.

I haven’t seen any films (other than older ones on TV) since i saw The Help, with the girls from the gym. We hopefully going to see the new George Clooney film this friday. Not sure if it was picked for the film or the fact that its got Mr Clooney in it – i think the later 😉

Seeing that picture of a Green Smoothie – how much do you drink? I seem to have issues with portion control, although i know its not too detrimental with a green smoothie but i still worry i’m overdoing it.

I love reading your blog! Thank you for Blogging.

  4. Sounds like you’ve had a very successful month,I’m happy for you! 🙂
I hate thinking of February,March and April though because these are going to be such stressful months for me… 😦

  5. I cant believe that January is almost over, time flies by so fat! But I’m glad that Spring is just around the corner. I’m soo ready for warmer weather.

Looks like you had a pretty great month! I hope that February is just as great for you! The next few months are going to be super super busy for me!

  6. So excited for your wedding! Wedding planning is the best 🙂 I’m looking forward to being a few day’s closer to spring!

  7. January has been ok for me, nothing too eventful has happened. I’m looking forward to spring, but I think that we have some cold weather to get through first!
I’ve been to see a few movies lately – The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and The Artist … both were very good.

  8. Congrats on your engagement – and great looking food! ^^ January has been great for me and I expect for February to be even better (and closer to summer!). The latest movie I’ve seen is “Straw Dogs” which isn’t terrible…but not my cup of tea.

  9. I have rather “hearted” January myself! It started out as summer for me, and I’ve ended it in the deepest, darkest winter 😉

It’s been a fantastic month, and am really looking forward to Feb. Not so much to my tan disappearing though!

I only watched one movie on the flight home, and that was One Day with Anne Hathaway. I adored the book, and the move surprisingly was ok – wouldn’t say it was brilliant, but it was quite faithful to the book, which was very pleasing. After the atrocious Time Traveller’s Wife I was expecting the worst and was pleasantly surprised with this one. Still glad I didn’t go to see it in the cinema though. Tom keeps asking to go to Sherlock Holmes before it closes, so I reckon that will be our next one.

Hope you’re well and all is going fantastically with the new job! Let’s do that lunch soon x
