Hi everyone! Geez! I cannot believe that it is Wednesday already. Does anyone know where the time is going. It’s almost as if someone has there finger on the fast forward button.
So like every Wednesday it is time to start the epic train of food porn that is WIAW. My contribution to the party this week consists of Monday’s eats- lets get started!
This particular morning I had to drop Alfie off at the train station so he could make it to work on time. This meant getting up at 5 am! To be fair it wasn’t such an onslaught as I made sure that I got enough sleep for the day ahead but it was still a but of a shock to the system where my eating habits were concerned.
After dropping Alfie off at the station I ate an unpictured banana with some chai tea with soya milk before heading to the gym where I did my new strength routine. I’m loving my new workouts already, Monday was an upper body day. The DOMS set in soon after, I will have to share my new routine with you soon.
Once freshened up and dressed it was time for breakfast number 2. I had defrosted the last of my Orange and Cranberry Hot Cross Buns from Easter and had them topped with vegan spread and blueberry and blackcurrant jam with strawberries and a chopped apple on the side and more tea.
This tided me over for a while, but as soon as it hit 1 pm my poor stomach was ready for its next feast. I decided to make a warm salad using mixed leaves, red kidney beans, cannellini beans, green beans, tomatoes and mushrooms with a green pesto sauce.
This salad was pretty special! I was just sad that I didn’t make a bigger serving.
Later in the afternoon I snacked on two apples and some very addicted spicy BBQ almonds that I picked up in Tesco.
Earlier that morning I had marinated some tempeh in some mirrin, sesame oil and soya sauce and baked it till it was crisp in the oven for dinner. I served it alongside some steamed greens and roasted parsnip chips with some ketchup!
I just love how the outside of the tempeh goes al crispy, so delicious!
After dinner I curled up in bed with a movie and snacked on two of my Cinnamon Raisin and Chocolate Chip Cookies from my test batch for the Cookie Exchange with more chai tea.
I seem to be quite addicted to my chai tea at the moment- love it! Of course I also drank shed loads of water, a summer berry drink that you dilute and green tea too.
This week so far is going pretty well. On Monday I finished the design template for our Save the Dates and headed to Hobby Craft for some card supplies to test which will work best. I cannot wait to print them out and see how they look. Yesterday I finally finished the first draft of my thesis. Although the entire thing is still pending corrections it is such a relief to know that the main bulk of the work is out of the way now.
How are your weeks shaping up?
What is your current food addiction? Any tea addicts out there?
Well you know I am addicted to tea! Chai is the king of the teas (Teapigs and Starbucks being joint winners), Earl Grey is the queen, and most other teas I just love so I am not sure what they are.
I love my chai too and Earl Grey! I just love tea! 😀
I have the exact same \spicy BBQ almonds and boy, are they addictive? I also bought the salted ones and they are delicious.
I’d love for you to share your new strength routine with us! I’m always looking for inspiration it comes to lifting- I just don’t know where to start!
Also, I can’t work out if your strawberries are HUGE or if your hot cross buns are mini? It’s like a magic eye!
They are super addictive, have just bought 2 more bags. I haven’t found the salted ones yet though, but have had salted almonds before and they are delicious. 😀 I will definitely post my workout routine for you. My hotcross buns are mini. I just couldn’t wait long enough for this batch to rise. 😀
Yum the parsnip chips look fab! I love tea especially mint it is always top if the list for me! X
Mint tea is so refreshing!
Unfortunately, chocolate chips seem to be the food obsession of the moment for me.
Everything here looks fab – you’ve even managed to make tempeh look delicious (coming from me, that is truly saying something).
xxx
For me being addicted to choc chips is not a bad thing! 😀
Those parsnip chips look the most like proper chips I have ever seen! I’m a constant tea addict, no surprises there!
Same here! Tea is one of natures greatest creations!
The hot cross bun with ham looks so amazing. I’ve never eaten tempeh – what is it like? I’ve always been so iffy about trying it, but its so good for you I feel like I should.
Tempeh is lovely. It’s just like a sponge and soaks up whatever you marinate it in. I think you would like it.
Sorry, above I meant *jam.
Your breakfast looks amazing!
Thank you! 😀
I’m definitely a tea fiend! I’m running dangerously low though so need to stock up soon. Current food obsession is steamed anything/everything – I recently bought a steamer basket after my old one went missing when I moved and have used it every day ever since.
And CONGRATS on finishing your first draft! I’m hoping to get there by this Friday 🙂
Thank you! I hope you are making good progress with your work. 😀
That salad looks fantastic. I’ll have to hunt for those almonds- they look great!
I wouldn’t say I’m a tea addict, but I do love coffee!
The almonds are so addicting!
Hello, my name is Kamila and I am a tea-oholic. I love tea!!
I don’t think I have any food obession currently, actually, which is weird. I’m doing a vegan week so I feel like my last food obsession disappeared with that (honey).
Hi Kamila- thanks for stopping by on my blog! 😀 I’m glad that I am not the only tea-oholic out there.
Hot cross buns mmm 🙂
My favourite tea is the chocolate yogi one, too good!
X
Oh I have that one and really enjoy it too! 😀
I love chai tea too!
Same here! 😀
Now I want some almonds…
They are the best! 😀
My current food addiction is strawberries…they are SO good right now, I just can’t get enough!
Yes I am exactly the same. 😀
awww yayy you’re doing save the dates right now! I can’t wait to see them. Wedding planning is so much funnnnn
I am really enjoying it!
Well done for finishing the first draft of your thesis! I bet that felt good 🙂 And wedding planning is all so exciting – I can’t wait to see your Save the Dates! Your second breakfast looks delicious, as do those cookies 🙂 My week is going okay, I’ve had particularly low energy lately though which is a bit of a struggle to be honest..
Thank you! 🙂 Glad to know that most of the work is done now. I hope your energy levels pick up soon!! x
I’m a total tea addict! I think the baby will be one too! First of all – you’ve made me crave blueberry jam on something bready! Secondly – what is mirrin? And thirdly – your night sounds perfect! 🙂
Hello lovely! Mirrin is a Japanese cooking wine- quite sweet. It was definitely was a great night in.
That salad looks amazing! so refreshing and pretty!
Hmm I am definitely into pears right now haha
