The week that was…gift packed!

It feels like so long ago that I did one of these posts.  I’ve been so busy recently at work and with blogging as I have so many ideas for posts that it’s difficult to fit them all into one week.  I feel so inspired right now and I just wish that there were more hours in the days to write all of these post that I have half started or written notes down for.

Well this week has been a pretty fun one for me as it started off with Alfie and I making a trip to John Lewis to go wedding gift list scanning.

We tried to do it all online, but we found it so difficult to decide on items without actually seeing them.  I highly recommend actually going to the shops to do it and then you can edit online later.  We got given this super cool scanner to go an scan whatever our heart desires, Kitchenaid mixer, Vitamix, Ipad3 anyone?  Of course we are not expecting anyone to buy the really expensive stuff on the list, but we just thought that we would just try our luck just incase anyone is feeing extra generous. Winking smile

After finishing off our gift list we looked around town for a while and ended up in TK Maxx.  I have never checked out their fitness wear section before, but I did this time.

I picked up this great vest top for £7 by a brand called Kyodan and these cute capri pants for £12.99 by Calmia for yoga.  I cannot seem to find a website specifically for Kyodan for some reason but there are some online stores that sell it.  I wore these to Body Balance last night and both were so comfortable, I love them!

Packages in the post are great at the best of times, but I love them even more when they contain food!  The very lovely Sarah sent me all of these goodies from across the pond.  We were partnered up in my last Foodie Blog Swap and decided to do a little swap of our own.

Thank you Sarah!  I love everything that you packed, especially your Caramel Apple Puppy Chow!

I got a lovely surprise when I went to check on my flowers in the garden this week:

My strawberries are starting to turn red!!!  I cannot wait to pick my own strawberries as it must be very satisfying to know that you are eating homegrown produce.

This week I have been mad about the bargain fruit at my green grocers, especially the doughnut peaches, a punnet of 10 for 99p!  Hell yes!  I’ve been eating big bowls of fruit for breakfast, snacks and dessert all week.

Strawberries, blueberries and raspberries topped with my banana vanilla custard, almonds and PB Cheerios.

Pineapple, melon, raspberries and doughnut peaches with one of my Cherry and Oat Breakfast Muffins and peppermint tea.

A chopped apple with strawberries topped with dairy free ice cream and cinnamon and a fig biscuit.

I just cannot seem to get enough of bowls of fruity delicious lately!

It’s great finding new blogs to read and this week I discovered a great food blog Joy the Baker which has so many mouthwatering recipes to enjoy.  I also stumbled upon  a lovely wedding blog, So Your Getting Married, full of so many pretty things and inspiration for any brides-to-be out there, like me!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!  I will back tomorrow announcing the winner of my Total Greek Yoghurt giveaway- sorry it’s late!

What has been the highlight of your week?

Do you ever wish there were more hours in the day?  I know I do, all day every day!

Have you discovered some great new blogs recently- care to share?

  1. Yay for your strawberries. I always used to love having homegrown strawberries when I was younger. I am growing lettuce and herbs on my balcony at the moment, and they have been growing great, although it would be better if there was actually more sunshine! Highlight of my week so far would be receiving an unexpected care package in the mail from a family member, so sweet and thoughtful! Yes totally on days I have long work shifts and gym sessions, I feel like I never actually sit down. I have tried to start incorporating 10 minutes of meditation each day, to try and relax a bit more and not feel like I am rushing about all the time so much!

  2. I’ve been really inspired to blog this week as well – it helps if I make a plan on Monday of what posts I want to write, and then I work through them day by day. It usually takes me a couple of days to put together a blog that I’m happy with 🙂
Wedding gift list shopping sounds like such fun!!
Congrats on the strawberries, I bet they’ll be delicious!

  3. Those strawberries look fab! Highlight of my week has to be the Vita! Thanks for encouraging me on twitter, haha! 😉

Our strawberries turned red this week too. I know I could go to Tesco and buy a big punnet for a couple of quid but there’s nothing like being patient for home grown fruit and veg. It sounds like you had a good week! Question, what stage of thesis writing are you at? You inspire me with how cool, calm and collected you are! 🙂

  5. Yum! Those goodies look awesome! Isn’t Sarah just the sweetest?

    Wedding gift shopping sounds fun!!!

  6. Your strawberries are adorable! Agreed, homegrown produce is the best! That puppy chow looks delicious, too. I’m having a Journey Bar giveaway by the way- you should come enter:)

I love Kyodan stuff! I think it’s a brand that’s made exclusively for TK/TJ Maxx and Marshalls because they don’t have a website or anything like that – their yoga pants are way comfy!

  8. Mini golf on the roof of selfridges and my new tattoos!!!!!! The package looks fab : )

  9. We almost did the John Lewis wedding gift list, but we decided to do our own bespoke website as we pretty much have everything we need in our home already. So on our ‘weddding website’ we created the gifts people could donate towards. We basically put loads of different things that we could do on our honeymoon. Your breakkies look awesome by the way!

Yum to home-grown strawberries 🙂 I had a few the other week and they are just amazing- although all this rain is not helping them much!

Those strawberries look so cute! Love the dessert bowl AND foodie swap package

  12. Hchaps

Cannot beat fresh strawberries! And the foodie swap looks so good! Always nice to get a package which contains a food surprise!

  13. Such a lovely picture of your strawerries with the colour spreading on to it – hooray for fresh fruit at the moment! My dad’s raspberry bushes are going mad; I think they’re my favourite summer fruit, but I’m loving all of it at the moment!
I love Joy the Baker and TK Maxx – bargains are always the way forward 🙂

  14. Yay for strawberries! We have some random wild ones that pop up in our garden, but the cat ate them all 😦
I can’t find doughnut peaches anywhere this year, I am somewhat devastated.

  15. I am involved in my first foodie blog swap this month and I can’t wait to send my package and to see what I receive too 🙂
